Woohoo! The wait is over. Sack your PPC agency.

Google has introduced AI Max for Search ads. You can read more about it here:

https://blog.google/products/ads-commerce/google-ai-max-for-search-campaigns/

All you need to do is give Google your credit card and it will do the rest

This is what Google and Meta have been dreaming about for so long. Taking full control of the narrative online.

AI Max for search ads if you can’t be bothered to read the above article is as it sounds, an AI campaign which automatically generates an advert which matches the user’s search intent, along with those pesky Automatically Generated assets we wrote about last week.

This means AI Max will automatically create adverts based on signals it finds on your website and asset library and also choose which landing pages best suits the user’s intent.

We tested it on our own PPC agency ads account.

While we test and measure and test again for our clients on a daily basis, when it comes to new AI formats and AUTOMATED ASSETS ,we lack the buy-in to try it blind on clients who have established brands for obvious reasons.

We could just let it run riot with advertisers accounts to sit back and see what happened.

We turned AI Max live on the 3rd of July and let it control our ads over the weekend to see what happened…

Here are the search term results 😱😂

Summary of AI max for search on Google ads

We’ll wait a bit longer for this one to mature before adding it to client accounts. It’s a no from me at this stage, especially given that it’s running from a converting ads account with near-perfect traffic and search terms and had that data to work with.

It’s not quite cooked yet, but we’ll give it another go in a few months and see what’s new.
