Background

Until the recent turn of events Hotspur 1364’s entire sales revenue was generated through their beautiful boutique in the heart of picturesque town, Alnwick in Northumberland. They had just invested in a shiny new Visualsoft website but had very little traffic or sales. Then Boris made the UK-wide lockdown announcement.

The Challenge

The main adversary at play here was time. The shop had to shut and the guys at Hotspur had to generate revenue from an absolute position of zero traffic and sales. This would be a full setup job at ferocious speed.

The Work

We set about getting the relevant accounts set up and with this being a Visualsoft website we had a good platform to work with. We optimised the shopping feed and after a couple of meetings with the Hotspur guys, developed a very strong angle on their most popular and more importantly, most profitable brands and lines.

We knew no one was buying a wedding suit as all weddings had been cancelled so it was casual all the way. We segmented out the brands Hunter, GANT and Loake and set up Google Shopping and search campaigns for these with low bids on everything else excluding the formalwear. We saw overnight success. Within days we were operating at a ROAS of 4 and within months we were up to a 7x ROAS.

The Future

Now we have plenty of conversion data in the account we have switched out the Google Shopping campaigns to smart bidding strategies and we’re seeing them continue to grow in performance. We’re working on email marketing with the wider Hotspur team to fully capitalise on all the new visitors to Hotspur 1364.

The time pressures that came with getting this right meant an intensive time was spent with the Hotspur 1364 team, and that has formed a strong relationship which we value highly. As with most of our clients, we’ve fallen a little bit in love with Lisa and her team and we’re looking forward to many Black Fridays and Christmasses making their tills ring.

For many years now I’ve battled and failed to grow online revenue within my menswear business….. Jason and Jen changed that!!! A fabulous meeting earlier this year has resulted in a 900% uplift in online sales and it’s no exaggeration when I say they’ve literally saved my business during these uncertain times. Simply could not recommend highly enough!
