PPC Manager
Location: UK (North East England) – Remote – WFH
Starting salary: £34,500 + Pension & Benefits
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
A quick bit about us:
We’re Be Found Be Chosen, a small but ambitious e-commerce agency based in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne. We may be small, but we are mighty – handling some huge clients that may surprise you! After another year of growth and with more on the way, we’re looking for an ambitious and motivated PPC Manager to join our talented team.
At BFBC, we know first-hand that happy employees make for happy clients, so we make that our top priority. Each team member has far fewer clients than they had in their last job (jobs like the one you might be doing now), giving them time to do high-quality work and leaving room left in their calendar to develop themselves and keep their work-life balance where they want it. We only work with nice clients and we feel we are in a happy place right now. Not to say it can’t be even better; we’re always on the lookout for ways to improve.
We are a flexible employer and fully expect work to blend in with: Childcare, pets, gym, cooking dinner, doing the washing, getting a haircut and life in general. This approach works for us because our staff are highly skilled and committed to doing great work without being micromanaged. This kind of autonomy isn’t for everyone but when it works, it really really works. If you’re in two minds, we’d love to chat with you and answer any questions you’ve got.
About the role:
We are looking for a PPC Manager to join Be Found Be Chosen and look after some of our fabulous clients! At BFBC we don’t mess around with generic reports or vanity metrics. We just grow brands online. We’re not afraid to have difficult conversations with clients and in return they trust us to do what’s best. That makes for a great working relationship which only gets better over time. The same applies internally; you won’t be micromanaged and we’re not afraid to change a process or try something new. *We mean this and it takes new staff a while to get used to.
Our ‘we hire for your talent, not your job history’ line isn’t a box ticking PR activity. We’ve built our agency around hiring people who love what they do. Our strategists are expected to improve the performance of a handful of clients’ accounts, not juggle dozens of low-value, low-budget retainers that don’t really know what they’re paying for.
As an agency, we aren’t stuck in our ways either. Every experienced hire we’ve made has joined the business and immediately changed at least one process within the agency, because it could be done genuinely better than the way it was done before. That freedom doesn’t go away once you’ve settled in; we’ve never been tied to a method because our oldest staff learned to do it that way from a webinar they saw in 2012. See it, change it, be a better agency than the one we were last week.
Key responsibilities:
Excellence in paid search: As the job suggests, we’re looking for an individual who has passion for Paid Search and can demonstrate expertise across search, shopping, display and all biddable ad formats in both Google ads and Microsoft Ads.
Client management: As a service centric agency, we prioritise client comms with on-going daily communication – not just a monthly call. So a willingness to engage directly with clients and build strong and collaborative relationships is essential and not just a ‘nice to have’.
Google shopping strategy and execution: Experience in managing e-commerce clients is essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial sense for Google shopping structures and best practices. We don’t need someone who can sell the top 10 products, we need someone who can sell the bottom 20.
Technical linking: A working knowledge of Tag Manager, Lookers Studio and Feed Optimisation Software is essential to ensure our clients make the most of the software resources we have available to optimse and track performance.
Social collaboration: We share clients as a team to ensure no one is left alone to deliver without support, so we expect PPC and Social strategies to align and the right candidate to have a collaborative approach to account management & strategy
Team comms: Yes we’re remote, but we talk.. Alot! Our team is in constant communication and we need a team player to chip in, have a laugh and support all team members to ensure everyone has a sounding board for ideas.
Client growth: We don’t run set and forget and we don’t turn blind eye to accounts which seem to run themselves without much attention. Our agency is constantly finding new ways to grow our clients through our curiosity and desire to win. We need a PPC manager who is curious, passionate and innovative.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- 3+ years agency experience and experience working with ecommerce clients is a must.
- Onboarding new PPC clients from scratch from initial client calls, through to campaign launch / start date
- Experience in setting up, creating, measuring and optimising all ad formats across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients, and juggling their needs proactively, we don’t wait for clients to complain to suddenly start doing our best work.
- Experience reporting results back to clients each month: what we did, what happened, what we’re doing next.
- The ability to plan their time and prioritise their own work.
- A proactive approach to campaign management and accommodate any client reporting needs.
- Experience auditing prospective clients’ accounts to assess viability and how best to pitch the work and plan paid search campaigns
- Experience in tracking set up including; GA4, Google Tag Manager and Looker Studio integration.
- Knowledge of product feed integration and optimisation.
